Why can't my hearing aids pair or connect to the myPhonak app?
Troubleshooting pairing and connection issues with myPhonak
An initial setup in the app is needed to pair the hearing aids. Pairing needs to be done only during the setup of the app. Afterwards the app remembers your hearing aids and will attempt to connect automatically whenever the app is opened.
There can be several reasons why the hearing aids cannot connect to the app. Try the troubleshooting steps below:
Check the internet connection.During the initial setup the internet connection is needed to pair your hearing aids with the app.
Check if Bluetooth® on your phone is activated.
Check that the hearing aid(s) is turned on and has adequate battery power.
When pairing your hearing aids with myPhonak, make sure they are in pairing mode. Activate Bluetooth pairing mode by turning your hearing aids off and then back on. They will remain in pairing mode for several minutes.
Make sure that both your phone and hearing aids are not in the flight mode. Flight mode can be accidentally activated on rechargeable hearing aids if you press and hold the button for too long when turning them on. If you hold the button for about 7 seconds, a solid orange light will appear—this means the hearing aids have entered flight mode. To enable the wireless function and exit flight mode in each hearing aid, switch the hearing aid off and then on again.
On Android™ smartphones- Location Services must be enabled during the initial setup of the app. After the initial setup- Location Services are not required for the app to work.
