Improve your experience with Bluetooth by configuring settings on your phone.

iPhone® 

Improve your experience with Bluetooth by configuring settings on your iPhone:

  1. Get latest iOS version: Make sure the phone is updated to the latest iOS version: Settings – General – About – iOS Version.
  2. Audio call routing: If your phone call is not automatically heard in the hearing aids, change call audio routing on your phone:  Go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Call Audio Routing >Select Bluetooth Headset.
  3. Turn off system sounds: Turning off system sounds such as keyboard clicks can greatly improve the experience with Phonak hearing aids. To turn them off on your iPhone (steps for iOS 16 or higher):
  • Go to Settings > Sounds and Haptics 

disable Keyboard Feedback  
disable Lock Sound  

 

  • Go to Settings > Notifications

disable notifications for individual apps

    Android™

    Improve your experience with Bluetooth by configuring settings on your Android smartphone:

    1. Get latest Android version: Make sure the phone is updated to the latest Android version: E.g., Settings – About phone - Version
    2. Turn off system sounds:  Turning off system sounds such as keyboard clicks can greatly improve the experience with Phonak hearing aids. To turn them off on your Android:
    •  Go to Settings > Sounds & Vibration > System Sounds 

    disable Touch interactions 
    disable Dialing keypad  
    disable Keyboard 
    disable Charging 
    disable Screen lock/unlock 

     

    • Go to Settings > Apps (Disable notification sound for individual apps) 

    Notifications set to "Silent"  

     

    This example is with a Samsung phone, for other phones the settings are similar. Use the search function in settings to help find them.
