Why do my Phonak hearing aids hang up calls, pause streaming, or activate Voice assistant unexpectedly?

These behaviors may be caused by a high sensitivity level of Tap Control. You can adjust the sensitivity level to "Gentle" in the myPhonak app settings. Low sensitivity reduces accidental activation of the Tap Control.

Depending on the device's Tap Control configuration, a light touch or accidental tap (such as while wearing glasses or adjusting your hair) can trigger functions like hanging up calls, pausing streaming, or activating Voice assistant.

In the myPhonak app settings, you can disable Tap Control to determine if it is the cause of the issue. If turning it off resolves the problem, the high sensitivity of Tap Control was likely triggering unintended actions.

Try setting the sensitivity level to "Gentle." A lower sensitivity can help reduce accidental activations of Tap Control.

If you do not use the myPhonak app, we recommend that you contact your hearing care professional, who can adjust the Tap Control settings in the fitting software.
