Why is my Phonak charger not working?

Potential reasons and recommended actions: 

• Hearing aid not inserted correctly into charger: Insert hearing aid correctly into charger. 

Insert the hearing aids into the charging inserts. Make sure the left and right hearing aid markings match the left (L), right (R) indicators next to the charging inserts.  
The hearing aids will automatically switch off once inserted into the charger. The hearing aid’s indicator light will show the charging state of the battery until the hearing aid is fully charged. When fully charged the indicator light will remain on, i.e. solid green light. 

• Charger not connected to power supply: Connect charger to power supply.

a.  Plug the larger end of the charging cable into the power supply.  
b.  Plug the smaller end into the USB port on the charger. 
c.  Plug the power supply into a power outlet.  
d.  The indicator light around the USB port will light up green when the charger is connected to the power outlet. 
 

• Rechargeable charger models- charging does not start when the charger is not connected to a power supply. 
  Internal battery of the charger is fully discharged: Connect the charger to a power supply.  Rechargeable chargers have an internal battery. When disconnected from the power outlet, they will continue charging the hearing aids until the internal battery is empty.

• Hearing aid battery fully discharged:  Wait three hours after placing hearing aid in charger, regardless of LED behaviour. 

• Hearing aid is in error state: Reboot the hearing aid:
  • Instruction for Phonak Infinio hearing aids: Press the push button for at least 15 seconds. It does not matter if the hearing aid is switched on or off before you start pressing the button. After 15 seconds the indicator light on the hearing aid blinks green and then turns solid green. The hearing aid is ready to use. 
  • Instruction for other Phonak rechargeable hearing aids: Press the lower part of the hearing aid button for at least 15 seconds. Place the hearing aid in the power-connected charger and wait until the indicator light blinks green. This can take up to 30 seconds. The hearing aid should be ready to use now.

Always make sure that the hearing aids and charger are dry and clean before charging.
