Why do I hear a ticking sound like a clock in my Phonak hearing aids?

In a silent environment the user hears on hearing aids a clock-like ticking every second.

The ticking can be heard on the Bluetooth connected hearing aid in a silent environment. It is related to Bluetooth scanning and occurs while the hearing aid is trying to connect to other Bluetooth device(s).

If you noticed the ticking sound and you find it disturbing, we recommend you to put your hearing aids into flight mode. This will disable Bluetooth scanning. Please note, phone calls and streaming audio to hearing aids will be disabled when a flight mode is active.
