How to Manage Bluetooth® pairing entries on your Android™ smartphone after updating your Infinio hearing aids to Ultra
Bluetooth® Pairing Entries Following the Ultra Update
If you have updated your Infinio hearing aids to Ultra, your pairings with your Bluetooth devices (smartphone, tablet) and myPhonak have been retained after the update, which means that your hearing aids will automatically connect to these devices and the app.
In the Bluetooth section of your phone's Settings, you will notice three entries for your hearing aids if you use two of them (refer to the example on the screen below). This is normal, as one entry represents the connection to your phone, while the other two represent the connection to myPhonak.
If you want to simplify the items displayed in your Bluetooth settings, you may want to remove all pairing items and re-pair your hearing aids by following these steps:
- Go to Settings > Connections > Bluetooth on your phone.
- In the list of paired devices, locate the entries representing your hearing aids.
- Tap the settings icon next to each paired device, then select the "Unpair" option to disconnect it. Repeat this process to remove all items related to your hearing aids from your Bluetooth menu.
- Open the myPhonak app.
- Navigate to the Devices section in the navigation bar.
- Tap on YOUR DEVICES. In the Product Information screen, select "Forget my devices."
- Return to the Home screen of the app and follow the pairing instructions to re-pair your hearing aids.
NOTE: To reconnect your hearing aids smoothly with myPhonak on Android™ smartphone, make sure to follow steps 1–3. If you only "Forget the devices" in the app without unpairing them in Bluetooth settings, they will not reconnect. This is known behavior when re-pairing your hearing aids with myPhonak for the first time after updating from Infinio to Infinio Ultra.
By pairing with the myPhonak app, your hearing aids will be set up for streaming audio and receiving phone calls, as well as for using myPhonak. You will now see only two items in your Bluetooth menu, as shown in the screenshot below.
