When I receive a call on my Android phone, why do I have problems hearing the caller through my Phonak hearing aids?
Troubleshooting issues with hearing the caller through my Bluetooth hearing aids.
During a phone call, your voice is picked up by the microphones of the Phonak hearing aid.
Answer incoming phone calls using the multi-function button of the hearing aids. This ensures calls are routed through your hearing aids. For outgoing calls- initiate the call normally via the phone. Depending on your phone configuration- the call will be routed to the hearing aids automatically. After accepting or during a call- you can change the routing of the call from your phone to your hearing aids. From the phone application screen- simply click the Bluetooth symbol to enable or disable the transmission to your hearing aids. Please note: Some phones transfer the call automatically to your hearing aids if the call is picked up by the hearing aid multi-function button- but stays on the phone if the phone’s button is used.
If you still cannot hear the caller on the phone- increase the volume of the call using the buttons on the phone.
If the multi-function buttons of your hearing aids are configured as volume buttons by your hearing care professional- you may also adjust the volume of the phone call by the hearing aid buttons.
If this does not work- delete the pairing from your phone- reboot the phone and hearing aids- and then re-pair them to your phone.
