How to handle recurring errors during the firmware update for rechargeable Phonak hearing aids

Troubleshooting recurring errors during firmware updates in the myPhonak app

If an error message appears during the update, try to continue by clicking on "Try Again". If the error persists after 3-4 attempts, or your hearing aids stop responding, follow these steps:

Reset the hearing aids

  1. Charge the hearing aids for one hour.

    • Sometimes low battery level can interrupt the process.
    • Make sure your charger is plugged into the power source.
  1. Remove the hearing aids from the charger.

    • Hearing aids may not display any light or sound.
  1. Press and hold the bottom part of the button on the right/left hearing aid for 15-20 seconds.

    • You can count slowly to 20 or check your watch to measure the time while holding the button.

    • If your hearing aid has a single button, simply press and hold it for 15-20 seconds.
    • Your hearing aids might not make any sound or show any light.
  1. Put your hearing aids back in the charger and then remove them again.

    • Make sure your charger is plugged into the power source.

  1. Try to continue the update.

    • Try to update, even if hearing aids don't appear to be working or connecting to the myPhonak app.

Did the reset not help?

  • If the error keeps showing up or hearing aids are not connecting, restart your mobile phone.
  • Then, open the myPhonak app and try to run the update again.

Are errors still occurring?
