This Phonak proprietary algorithm is designed to compress and shift high frequencies into an adjacent area of audible hearing. Frequencies below the kneepoint are not compressed or altered in any way. This unique approach enables high-frequency information to be compressed with minimal artifacts. High-pitched sounds like children’s voices, birdsong and alarm clocks become audible again and the understanding of speech is greatly improved.
