Easy counseling support with new Phonak interactive tool

The new Phonak Style & Product Selection Guide supports Hearing Care Professionals in counseling their clients

Stäfa, Switzerland (February 9, 2011) - The new Phonak Style & Product Selection Guide is an interactive multimedia tool for Hearing Care Professionals designed to support their counseling process. It covers all the key aspects of counseling: hearing loss, audiogram, style selection, hearing needs and proposed solution.

As a flexible and intelligent tool the Phonak Style & Product Selection Guide is designed to support the counseling process. The tool offers a vast range of visualizations such as a personalized audiogram as well as short animation sequences on key hearing aid features.

The Style & Product Selection Guide’s main aim is to lead to a concrete value proposition for the client. As part of the process, in the “Audiogram” section the Hearing Care Professional can enter the client’s individual audiogram and use an illustrated graphic to explain the consequences of hearing loss. The menu “Hearing Aid Styles” is designed to support the style decision. In the section “Hearing Needs” the individual hearing needs can be determined by selecting the relevant listening situations. This impacts the recommended level of technology described in the “Hearing Solutions” chapter. With many sound samples and animations all the features can be explained and demonstrated. In addition, an illustrated overview of all available accessories linking the client to TV or mobile phone can be used to further support the counseling process. Key to the philosophy behind the selection guide is its flexible use that can be adapted to individual fitter and client needs.

The tool was designed to be used independently of any fitting software and does not require internet access. It is available in English, German, French and Spanish and can be individually branded to the fitters office. Furthermore, it offers a printout option for all end-user relevant sections, such as the audiogram, hearing needs, hearing solutions as well as for accessories. Please contact your local Phonak representative if you are interested in this tool or need information.
